how to force wipers to work in emergency

my multifunction switch is under warranty,

but it has never been bad enough to make me want to get it fixed.

until tonite, in the middle of all the storm warnings here,

we left one part of town, and went to another, and it got BAD before we got home.

they were on HIGH, but were only sweeping once every four or five seconds.

i got a good look at a curb across a long intersection that had a slight turn in it.

i wiggled the stalk all over, but nothing seemed to do anything.

then, i just pushed on the "squirter" and that made them come on, on LOW speed, and at least i could see then.

i could not tell if the squirters ran for the next 15 minutes or not, but at least i could see to get home.

You might think about getting them fixed

You might check and see if your truck is covered by the wiper motor recall that is going on.

RainX will help you in a situation like that but only if you applied it before it started raining. It doesn't fix your issue but will give you visibility....

That's clever. Almost as clever as when I had to attach vise-grips to the back side of the wiper motor shaft on my '68 Landcuiser during the blizzard of '89 and actuate 'em by hand

What years does that wiper recall fall under. My 06 2500 was really slow on high, but now has completely stopped working. Rainx has worked for me lately.

Make/Model/Build Years: DODGE / RAM 3500 / 2006

don't ask me, but it's only 06 3500's
those trucks should share wiring/switches/hardware with ALL 2006 trucks: 1500, 2500, 3500, and even work bodies.

and apparently, all years of Rams are malfunctioning,
just do a search on here for wiper

one poster said it was very expensive, and most trucks are NOT under warranty for this.

and mine did what yours did:
-worked pretty good, had both low and high
-worked erratically, but always worked in low at least
-last night, they only worked in intermittent.

so if you don't think about mashing in for squirters, you can end up not seeing where you are going in the next rain.
