Horn won't stop blowing

04 ram 2500 horn starting blowing out of the blue. Sitting in drive, nobody around. Pulled fuse to stop the blowing. Disconnected horn button, airbag and clock spring, and horn still blows when u plug fuse back in. So I have eliminated the horn button and clock spring as the faults. Any other ideas? Best i can tell there is no horn relay, or not a servicable one? Who has had this problem, and how was it fixed? Truck is stock, except for fuel pump and wiring to fuse panel.

Thanks in advance for any help. GDF

Mine will do this from time to time. No rhyme or reason.

I have no idea how to help, but I watched Smokey and the Bandit over the weekend and when Bufford T Justice's horn got stuck on, another cop kicked the side of the car and it shut off......lol..... Just had to throw that out there...

follow the wire from the horn and see if any of the wire shielding is rubbed or chaffed.

It's normal. Other trucks do it too. You just have to get used to it.

Do you have the factory alarm system?

If so, get in and put the key in the ignition, turn the key on, start the truck, then shut it off.

If that doesn't stop the horn from blowing, using your key, lock and unlock the drivers door manually.

That usually shuts the horn off when the alarm system has a brain fart.

I've tried those tricks....it works sometimes and them at times I either put up with it until it times out or I pull the fuse.

I had to decrease the shock sensor and motion detection response, the wind has been blowing too hard and setting off the alarm too often. Uaually, just turning on the ignition and starting the truck resets everything. I have only had to do the door lock/unlock once.

I couldn't resist. Especially when people post that their truck does it too. Just one more 'normal' thing we have. We should keep a list....

Idle lope - normal
Dripping oil - normal
Horn alarm going off randomly - normal
Death Wobble - normal
1-2 trans hunt - normal
white smoke - normal
black smoke - normal
clicking under hood - normal
clunk in front - normal
And the biggest one of all:

Dealer telling you it's contaminated fuel and will cost you $11,000 to repair - normal

Horn won't stop blowing

Thanks for replies, inputs. Went to dealer for evaluation. Turns out that the horn relay is integrated in the power control board, and a front module? Both of which are very expensive. Neighborhood of $250 & $600, prob 2 hours of labor to evaluate plus parts. Easily over $1000 to fix a horn. Ridiculious design. A plug in relay for $10 is appropriate. My conclusion, a workaround, ie wire around power control module, add a relay, and add horn if needed, prob 1 hour work and $50. Thoughts? Thanks

Smart move! You could put a train horn under the truck between the frame rails and give the dealer a little blast every time you drive by.

Crazy pricing these guys give, and I bet they aren't willing to guarantee that will fix it....
