Holy Cow-mirror gone!
2006 2500 Laramie 4x4 Quad
So driving down the hwy few mins ago. Glanced at driver-side mirror to change lanes SWOOOSHH!!! The mirror (glass) detaches from the housing and begins to flay' in the wind dangling by 2 tiny wires!!! :o:o:o ....after 2 seconds, my mind says, "Roll down the window and grab it!!"...then my real brain responds "You fool that's a piece of glass swooshing like a sword in the wind!...you're liable to slice yr hand off (or at least a couple fingers)!" ...then my brain says "Pull over and you can save it...maybe you can just push it back on..." then the 2 tiny wires release.... gone! not enough super-glue in walmart to repair that mirror.... [duhhh] Sigh.... Dealer wants $115 for the part. [nonono] heavy sigh.... Well, at least I still have all my fingers... |

found a replacement mirror @ NAPA.
QUESTION: Need a wire diagram for connecting the driver-side heated mirror. when my fell off, i didn't have chance to see which connections go where. My wires are: Two Black coming out of main hole. Each wire has a "female" plug at the tip ---AND a white wire (with female) connected to the connected (tethered) onto the black. Summary: two black wires with a connector; each black wire has a white wire connected to it ((basically two black wires, each with a white wire connected)). |
The passenger side should be wired the same way. Just pop off that mirror plate and hook up the driver side mirror the same way.
