help...issues with rear door locks and windows

Thanks in advance...

Both rear doors do not trigger the interior lights when opened...power locks to not respond to the key or the driver or passenger front power unlock/lock button. Both rear doors windows do not respond to their own power windo switch...but the driver switch operates them...this just started happening.

Could it be as simple as the door sensor being bad?

I think you have more than one problem going on here. You could have a bad lockout switch or broken wire that's causing your window issue but that wouldn't affect the locks. You may have two or more broken wires in the harness at the drivers door pillar.

My driver's switch always works all the windows and locks just fine. ALL the passenger door switches work sometimes and sometimes they don't work at all. Lots of trucks have an issue where the wire loom from the door to the jamb gets crimped and exposes the wires and the passenger windows/locks quit working. It could be as simple as your lockout switch being bad too...

Wiring in the door issue, very easy to look at, harder to fix, should be very inexpensive for the DIY guys.

Just had my '05 in the shop for the left rear door unresponsive to the all-lock on the driver console. Lock died two years ago, speaker died about six months ago. Mechanic told me the wiring harness was about 1/2 inch too short for comfort, so stress-cold weather-length ... didn't allow the wires to flex appropriately and eventually broke. Worked intermittently if the wire ends made contact. He soldiered a 1" extension to make them work again. Replacing the entire wiring harness was an option, but more pricey. Got out with $45 labor, $3 parts.

Best Regards,

Jeff
