Help - Borgeson Steering shaft to long
I have a borgeson steering shaft I am trying to put on and it is to long. What can I do? If I need to cut it, where and what do I need. I thought this thing was just bolt and play.
Panic over! I cut it off with a SawsAll.
Was quite easy. I was afraid I would have to drill a hole in the bar for a set screw, but that was unfounded fear. Hope this ends up helping someone else.

Well, I did the same thing, except with a chop saw. I think it's bogus that Borgeson doesn't put anything in their instructions for when this needs to be done.
One would think that it'd be a hot topic as we can't be the only two this has happened to.

May have to start a support group
. I do feel better I am not the only one that had trouble. It was not until I went to their web site and they talked about having to alter the shaft for proper fiting that I went duhh, it can be shortened.
I had just tried to put on a track bar from BD and was frustrated because it did not fit. So I was amped up. I gave Summitt (where I bought it from) a call and found out there is a different kit for the 08-10 that was not on their site and the Kit I bought was listed incorrectly for my 08. Good news is Summitt took care of me more than I expected and I will have the new track bar by Friday. I can not say enough good about their Customer Care and service.

went through this three years ago with borgeson. come to find out they made the same kits for the gas and diesel trucks. supposedly they had remedied this problem-i guess not . they were a pain in the *** to deal with
thats aa bunch of crap you pay nearly what 3 hondo for a steering shaft to have to custom fit it to your truck are you serious. how do you stay in business like that.
is that for all year trucks like ours, cause i can take that off my list, not that its hard to cut but what the heck
