Heater/AC fan blowing
Heater/AC fan blowing
I got a plain jane 2005 Cummins 74000miles with AC. Nothing fancy. 2 weeks ago it started sounding like there was an obstruction in the air box that would oscillate back and forth causing a noise. Like something was blocking air flow thru the system and it would go back and forth.
This last several days we have been back in 100 degree temps and driving around it just appears to me like the amount/speed of the air coming out of my vents is not what it once was. Was in my 95 Ram earlier and its blowing the air way more then the 2005.
Moving the selector back and forth seems to go to all the various settings with no troubles. Defrost to floor and front vents and so forth.
Was wondering where the air intake is for the system when its in recirc mode? Any ideas? Do I have the dreaded internal door/flap problem creeping up on me?

Well after further reading and inspection my recirc door is broke..........So for now I have taken the glove box out and stuck some folded rags up over it to block it off and its working fine now.

Yeah, that door either blocks the recirculation grille behind the glove box, or the fresh intake towards the top of the hvac case.
If the recirc door is broken and blocking air or falls into the fan, you may be able to pull the motor and reach up and pull out the pieces.
