You made the right decision go to Katzkin and get a custom set of leather seats and they will be better quality than factory for less money.

I think the full set (front and rear) is around $800? Something around there.

Go Katzkin

If I had to do it again I'd go with the cloth seats then upgrade to Katzkin. They quoted me $1200 installed front and back + tax on my 2001 (their shop in Seattle area). That way you'd get leather in the back seat too (instead of vinyl from the factory). I would also get the perforated inserts since my seats get rather sweaty on warm days and don't breathe that well.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want leather over the premium cloth? That is, besides the 'status' thing. I have had leather on various vehicles and chose premium cloth for my truck because I find it a lot more comfortable than leather. It does not scorch my legs when I leave it in the sun and in winter the cloth is not as cold as leather.

Sounds nice. Actually I did consider the leather seats but it was my wife who said she prefered the cloth seats. Her car is full leather.

IMHO, leather smells good and leather looks good but...cloth is more comfortable, le$$, and I don't look at the seats when I'm driving.

Leather does look better, and the smell is nice. But I dont like them when you are on the road. You slide all over the place when taking corners, coming to a stop, etc. Well, at least I do.

I got leather because cloth is impossible to clean. Drip blood on it, spill anything on it, and forget it. Leather just wipes right up.

Big Cumminz, you may want to try a set of wet okole seat covers. I generally get them and put them over my leather seats. Why you ask? So at 150k miles I can take off the worn seat covers and have brand new leather when my cummins has been 'broken in' I did this on my TDI and they were incredible. Plus you can get any color combo you like, with logos. They are made of neoprene (wetsuit material) so they do not hold heat or cold, are waterproof, and simply wipe off to clean. They are very high quality construction, cover every bit of the interior including headrests and center console, and are a tight fit/don't move at all. Nobody realizes they are seat covers until I tell them. I'll try to get a pic up. Mine are all black with silver Cummins logos on the front seats..the silver matches the brushed silver trim on the doors and dash nicely... check out www.wetokole.com

Re:have premium cloth NEED leather seats

I had Wet Okoles on my '96 Ram. Fit and Finish were first rate and they looked great for a few years. UV damage caused mine to fade and then shed material after a 3 - 4 years and they became an eyesore (although only the top layer was decaying so they still protected well).

I didn't use the UV treatment they suggest, so I don't know how much that would help.

Mine looked nearly new after a few years of being parked outside in the florida sun. However I have window tint that blocks UV's etc.... I bought the uv treatment and shampoo like a sucker but never used it Great covers IMO.

Yep, tint works wonders. I refuse to own a vehicle without tinted windows. There are so many benefits. Sorry to jack this thread
