Guidence for flooded truck-axle
 

Hey guys, Its been awhile since I've needed your expertise on my 05 dodge 2500 4x4 5.9... So, I was flooded in Harvey and unfortunately my truck had sat in high water. Probably 1 to 2' in the cab. I've already done quite a bit, but I don't know much about the axles, rear end etc. Can one of you help me out with what I should do?
edited to add, i already cleaned transmission pan, filter and gasket and replaced transmission fluid, and oil. Basically the basics thst I know how to do.

Pull differential covers off and inspect what comes out and inspect the gears inside for rust. May not be too bad but who knows.

If the bearings aren't too bad I wouldn't be afraid to put clean fluid in, run it a bit and check everything out again.

Good advice above. Also, I think I would remove the rear hubs and drain the water out of those, have a look at the wheel bearings, and reassemble them with a new seal and splash of fresh gear oil in each. Otherwise, quite a bit of water could be trapped in there, damaging the bearings.

The axles have reuseable gaskets, if you weren’t aware.
