Great deal

Traded my 03 on another 03 today. With the new incentives DC offered begining on 01 October I actually got the same truck with more options for several thousand less than I paid for my first 03 in Feb of this year.

DC is offering the following

--Make your best deal with the dealer, in my case it was $1000 below invoice.
--$4500 DC incentive off of that.
--My dealer gives an $1000 additional discount for customers that have made more than 4 purchases from them.
--$300 off for owning my own business.

--So what I got was MSRP of $36525.00 and I paid $25977.00.

--Now I know the dealer always comes out on top, but I will be surprised if incentives like these last much longer.

I figured the entire deal out on the internet before I talked to the dealer and with zero debating over the figures, he gave me EXACTLY what I had priced out on line. The only surprise was I got $1000 more on the trade than I expected.

Now for the sad story. Got in the new truck to leave and the AC did not work. So they gave me a loaner while they repair that.

They even gave me a brand new diesel loaner. Go figure that out. Why would they loan me a brand new truck??? I told the manager I'll probably put 300 to 500 miles on it this weekend. No problem he said??? Go figure!!!

At any rate. There are some outstanding deals out there right now.

Dang! What a deal!
Maybe I should look into trading mine in for the HO/auto. Then again, my wife would be wanting to drive it! :P

Re:Great deal

Man. I'd really like to trade my 03 2500 in for a SRW 3500. If I could get a deal like yours I would do it without a doubt. Or even a 2500 4WD, as long as I get a 6spd and HO!!!!

It took me a LONG time to find my current truck though, not sure where to start with this.

EDIT: Looks like SRW 3500 is hard to find in a long bed. Maybe I'll look for a Dually?!?!

Re:Great deal

I'd die if I had to change over to another 03 again. I do wish I had a short bed with a SRW setup living downtown, this truck is hell to park. However, I would'nt trade it for the world, besides me living downtown is a temp. deal. I did the numbers on mine just for grins and I could step down to a 2500 SRW with a short box but then I'm giving up my 8 foot bed and I think the eight foot beds look odd without the duals so now I'm back to duals and the duals are only on the 3500 series, wait a second. Hey.......I already have the truck I want.

Thanks I will ask them about it. I'm inquiring with the dealer from whom I bought my truck because I think they may give me the best deal but I'll go anywhere. I'd happily drive across the country to do a trade in deal!

What did they give you for your truck?

KBB says dealer will pay 27K for mine but that seems a little high.

Re:Great deal

I got $28K for my trade, it had 15,000 miles on it. After all the DC & dealer incentives were deducted I got a brand new one for just under $26K and it was better equiped.

Dealer said they won't be able to sell the used 03's till DC drops this incentive package. Why buy a used one when the new ones are cheaper.

I sure don't understand the car business. I just know I got a pretty good deal, for once!!

Re:Great deal

That's excellent. I'm definitely looking into this. Did you actually come out with cash in pocket for trading?

Re:Great deal

I just put it against the new truck. But yes, with the incentives they have going now, as long as you buy at or below invoice you can do really well.

Re:Great deal

I should tell you guys that getting an 03 at or below invoice should not be a problem and that DC will take another $4500 off of that. If your a memeber of the Farm Bureau you can get another $500, I believe. And if you own you own business you can get another $300.

As far as what the dealer does for repeat customers. That is all negotiable and each dealer does as they see fit. My particular deal worked out in my favor. Hopefully yours willl to. It all depends on the ******* your working with.

Good luck.

To Clarify what you are saying....the dealer gave you a new 2003 equipped about the same as your old truck for just under 26000, and then they gave you 28000 for your trade? So they gave you a brand new truck of about the same equipment and 2000 cash for your used one? I gotta see the bill of sale for myself on that deal.

Re:Great deal

remember, the rebate is set buy dodge not the dealer....we really have no idea how much they are making even at invoice and dodge is eating the 4500 incentive. they are making a killing
