to all of you that still own a dodge cummins god bless! I have owned 2 a 2000 and 2003. all i can say is i have had bad luck with all. i now have a toyota tundra. i was so happy just have the vent doors working on the new tundra! the best mod i did put on the dodges was the pure power oil and fuel filters. they are expensive but well worth it.will be getting one for the tundra. Best of luck and good bless. ps. will allway be a cummins fan!!

Cool

Good luck to you...I`m also considering getting rid of mine and getting a used `07 or newer ,GMC Sierra Denali (w/the 6.2 403hp and 6 spd auto.) or a Crew Max Tundra...had mine for 5 1/2 yrs (58K miles just starting to get broke-in for the engine ) ,and thinking about something different. I don`t need a diesel any longer but it depends on what I can find.

I might just end up lowering mine back down and keeping it....

tundra would have been my second choice if I could not get a deal on the 09 I got 2 months ago. I really like the crewmax tundras but I like my megacab better........ Like I said, it was a close second..... I have not had one single issue with my 05 cummins though, I hope to have the same luck with my 09.

I'd be leary of this. I got a guy I know that has the 5.9 pulls a 22" toybox around 7500k and he says he's getting 4-6mpgs pulling and it screaming up the mountain at 45mph. But they are nice looking trucks. Oh for Nissan there pulling the line after 2010 do to low sales and poor mpgs 13mpg on average. I hear Nissans in talks with Dodge for a joint deal for building there truck for them based off the Ram 1500 frame and power train.

No gasser has before or will ever hold a candle to the Cummins in the performance trifecta of torque, efficiency and longevity. Sorry, but they are just not in the same league.

Good luck with the Toyo. The Cummins isn't for everybody - different strokes for different fiolks.

The Toyota trucks are very good, reliable, mid-size trucks. They superbly fill the mid-truck market. So if thats your need, go for it. In Europe, these trucks are fitted with 3 liter turbo diesels and are MUCH better than the gassers are. However, they are not equivalent to the Dodge Cummins in any way if you need a heavier truck. I have heard rumors that Toyota are planning on selling the diesels next year in the states. I will be buying a new Toyota IQ+ with a 1.4 liter turbo diesel with a 6 sp. It is 20 CM longer than a Smart. It makes 90 DIN HP and uses 4 liters per 100 kilometers and I think it is the ultimate grocery getter. It is really quick and handles like a go cart.

Good luck... I'll never own another Toyota!

Not because of the truck... I was a good truck (except for a few small issues) but Toyota's serivice was HORRIBLE!!! The nightmare's they put me through were rediculous.

Yes... Dodge Service is better! Not the best, but Better!

The best service I have ever received was with Honda! Too bad Honda doesn't make any vehicles of use to me... If they did, I'd have one!

I'm quickly getting fed up with Nissan too! They don't support their products like they should, and if the wife wasn't dead set on getting one, I'd have put her in a Honda... But, gotta keep Momma happy, if you know what I mean!

For me the vehicle is only part of the deal... Service is very important...

I'll never go gasser again till I'm old and drive an Accord.

That said, I'd never drive a V8 diesel either...too many moving parts.

I'm tired of just getting comfortable in a vehicle and knowing it's workings and then hitting 60K and the motor's shot and needs a rebuild.
I'm sure towing would expedite this and I don't believe some of these mileage claims.

I have no problem driving the Ram/Cummins till the body rusts out.
It'll still be the best looking truck on the road.
