Glass Cleaner

What are you guys using to clean your trucks glass. I have used several different products, but none of them gets the glass spotless. Any suggestions?

I've been using this stuff called "Invisible Glass", made by Stoner (Like, whoa, man!)

I LOVE it compared to Windex. It must have some alcohol in it or something, cause it dries up quickly as you wipe, leaving behind no streaks or anything. It has a pleasant smell too.

I use the Stoner stuff also, it works great, and you can buy it cheap at wal-mart.

Yeah i have used stoner, but it does not get the glass spotless. I am talking about what looks like water or soap spots, i guess it is in the pores of the glass. Wonder if there is anything out there that will strip the glass clean.

I use regular old Glass Plus from wally world. It doesn't have amonia like Windex does. Ammonia is what causes the streaking. Anything with ammonia is lousy to clean glass. Glass Plus is even good for applying window tint but again the Windex is not because of the ammonia.

I just read that acetone is a good glass cleaner. I don't know if you can buy acetone, but it is the main ingrediant in nail polish remover, not that i paint my nails. Guess i will try some nail polish today.

I also like the invisible glass from Stoner works great and I have used it on some pretty nasty windows.

I use Armor All Auto glass cleaner, but for water spots pick up some glass polish from your local glass/window store. I've heard Ceramabryte works well, we use it for Schott Ceran Glass. I have a customer who uses it for his house windows.

You should be able to buy Acetone at a hardware store - Lowes, HD....be careful around the paint, acetone is pretty harsh....

Also, I noticed that if I wash my truck (or any car) and let the glass dry instead of drying with a good chamois... it leaves the spots you are asking about and windex / traditional cleaners will not get them off... if I dry my windows with a chamois (I use the Absorber or something) before they have time to air dry, there are no spots and a normal glass cleaner will make the windows spotless.

You can dry your windows with a regular towel and it won't leave spots. Just make sure it's not one of the good towels.

I worked at a *********** for a while when I was kid. They recommended that I use regular windex, but used balled up newspaper to wipe the window clean. I always wondered how in the world the ink would not be left on the window, but for some reason it works. The paper is agressive enough to clean the window of the goop from the dash board radiation and heater vents, but not so much that it will scratch it. I only do it from time to time to get the heavy grime off... but it works.

I got a tip from a detailer - - he always scrubs any window to which he is going to apply RainX with Bon Ami cleanser. No bleach, abrasive enough to completely strip the glass and leave it spotless. I do it and love it.

Why don't you try this...... I use a teaspoon of distilled clear vineger and water in a small spray bottle. Safe for the tint and does not streak. Works great!!!!!! Works better than any glass cleaning product I have ever used.
