Fog Light Replacement

One of my Fog Lights is broken, lens smashed, maybe got hit by a stone or what ever. I need a new fog light lens. Does anyone know where I can order one? I'm not looking for a set, unless thats the only way I can get one.

Rollin' Smoke 05-15-2007 01:27 PM

from what I have heard you cant get just the lense for the foglights. you actually have to buy the how unit and replace it like that

Mr Bee 05-15-2007 01:46 PM

I had the same thing happen, as have a great many others. I bought one at a dealer and paid a health sum. Shortly after that one of the gentleman here directed another to ebay. I checked and they are a dodge product just cheaper. There is a difference from left to right so make sure you are getting the correct one. As rollin smoke stated, one way to buy and that is a complete unit
Good Luck

The factory Dodge light from Dodge is $120 or so, only comes complete unit. The other option, the way I took, was to get one from E-Bay for $50 including shipping and after installing I can't remember which one was the replacement. Looks identical to teh original and less than 1/2 the price.

Just do a search for Dodge fog light on e-bay and as above be sure of which side.

I dont think the $120 was for the autozone shelf light [laugh] . The dealer got me for $120+tax for my driver fog light. But i choose to keep my truck like it was when i left the lot with it and not put cheap parts in it......

AlCorr 05-16-2007 04:51 AM

When you say it comes complete unit, does that mean everything, wire, bulb, socket, just plug it in .

Mr Bee 05-16-2007 08:27 AM

Yes it does mean complete. Just plug and play.
and Crankpot the dealer does charge $120.00 for the factory unit. I have a receipt I would be happy to share with you.
AlCorr, you can believe most everything you read on this post board. It is populated by group who are more than willing to assist you should you have a problem/question. There are many knowlegable individuals who are an exceptoinal source of techinical information, and the ones I know or have met are all to a person stand up people.

Thanks, man, (I mean Mr Bee). and all, I'll check out e-bay.

Rollin' Smoke 05-16-2007 10:59 AM

about the post that say the rights are different from the lefts, that is not all true at least on the 03-04's........when I bought my truck (used) one of the foglight lenses was busted. my old man used to bust them all the time in his 04 2wd, I am guessing because its closer to the ground and gets alot of rocks hitting them. he was buying the whole wiring kit and lights at the dealer so he had one extra light. anyway, he gave me what he thought was a right foglight and i installed it and it just didnt look right. so i got to looking at the one i took out and noticed you can actually take the foglight off the mounting bracket and flip it over to make it work on one side or the other. so i pulled the new light out and did just that, worked and looked great. thought that might help a couple guys out in the future.

Ask me how I know!

Rollin' Smoke 05-16-2007 02:35 PM

okay how do you know?

2003Ram 05-16-2007 04:35 PM

You can get the kit with two lights, brackets and wire harness from Dodgeparts.com for about $150.

new2ctd 05-16-2007 06:52 PM

Oh - I meant how I know about this site to buy them off of individually.
I don't have a dog in the left fits right deal. I purchased 1 by itself from this place.

Rollin' Smoke 05-16-2007 10:29 PM

cool.....sounds good

phloop 05-17-2007 12:09 AM

I also bought the complete kit for around $130/140, you can get it for less if you do not get the complete kit. I found out after buying the complete add on kit that there is another kit.

I swapped an SLT bumper onto my Laramie and the SLT bumper did not have the fog lights. I found that my stock Laramie fog lights would not fit without the mounting buckets. The price on the two mounting buckets for the SLT fog lights was about $80 or so. I figured I would buy the complete kit as I would have those extra (very spendy) fog lights housings sitting on a shelf in case one broke.

Jeff in TD 05-17-2007 09:45 PM

I got mine from headlightswholesale, and was quite pleased. Saved me money, and once it was installed I couldn't tell it from the stock one (either from how it looked, or from the light it casts).

AlCorr 05-18-2007 01:38 PM

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff in TD 05-18-2007 05:31 PM

Also, after I broke one I got some of that 3M stoneguard stuff to put on, and haven't had a problem since.

phloop 05-18-2007 08:54 PM

Hey jeff in TD, where's Mt. Fanny at? Looks kinda like your side of the hills but that area looks like almost any where east of the Cascades.

By the way, next time you go through HR honk, if I hear ya I'll honk back.[laugh]

I'll do the same the next time I am in TD.[laugh] [laugh]

Jeff in TD 05-19-2007 08:59 AM

Hey, someone else in my neck of the woods!

MtFanny is above Cove, east of LaGrande. The riding area is small, but I was over there anyway.

Yes they sell just the lens:)

Rollin' Smoke 05-19-2007 09:52 AM

those appear to be for 06-07 lights!

Jeff in TD 05-19-2007 03:06 PM

On mine, anyway, it appeared the lens was molded together with the light housing...

phloop 05-19-2007 04:30 PM

The Cove, a good place to watch out for rattle snakes, and Bikini's.[whistle] :D

I just checked out my extra set of lights. The lens does looked sealed to the bucket, the post above states the lens is for a Hella Rallye 4000 series fog light.

After checking out the site and looking at my lights I found something funny. Why does the pass. side cost more than the driver side? The only thing that is different between the two that I could see is the light bracket is either mounted so the light will be for the right side or the left side.

The stock bracket has both left and right PN's cast on it. It is exactly the same bracket for both sides.

Just buy the cheaper of the two which looks to be the driver side and remove the light from the bracket, turn it 180 deg. and remount it to the bracket.

I dont know if these have been posted yet or not, but you should be able to by a single light assembly at Dodgeparts.com just click under the OEM Catalog and browse through body/collision section (Pick your year, make, model, and then choose front lamp in the subheadings). Or better yet try this link. The assemblies are going for $96.00 plus shipping.

https://www.dodgeparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html

Lmc has them for our trucks too. and they list for around $80.00 plus shipping.

I would invest in some stone gaurds if you continue to have problems. I have driven on dirt roads and through bug invested area and not have any problems with my lights yet. I also do not have any stone gaurds on them either. Maybe I am just lucky.
