Well unless the gov't makes it too expensive to own my generation truck, I think I'll spend the cash to rebuild when the time comes, I guess it will be a classic eventually, right?

Has anybody actually looked at a Ford recently? If ya think that looks like a Ford, go down to the Ford store and have a look. It looks NOTHING like a Ford! Not even close! Everything that comes out looks like a Ford...but they dont.
I was hoping for a different frontend, but itll grow on me. After I drive one Ill want it. PLEASE let it be true that the Mega lives!! Ill buy one in a couple years. I didnt like the 03s when I first saw them in magazines, but saw them in person and loved them.

I`m sure it`ll grow on me as well , but I`m not a big fan...just yet

Like Scotty said, I also really like the idea of a bigger cab and long box, without having to spend $$$ to buy a mega cab and more $$$ to have extra frame spliced in and a long bed installed.
The quad cab is OK for kids, or for large adults on a short trip, but I'd rather have a cab that will hold adults comfortably for long trips.
The 1/2 ton version really does look better, and more Dodge like, in person.
As far as all the emission stuff goes, later 6.7 owners seem to be reporting better MPG and fewer CEL problems than when they first came out, or could it be there are already threads on CEL type problems...
Anyway, at least it looks like Cummins continues to exceed emission standards without selective catalist and a urea tank.... It remains guesswork how reliable, and how expensive to operate the trucks so equipped will be.

The safe bet..
Say what you will about the looks, but if I was in the market to buy a new truck in the next couple of years there is no doubt in my mind I'd be getting the Dodge (again).
Think about it, they really didn't change anything that mattered. New sheet metal and interior is all. That's not stuff that usually gives you problems. It's the same time-proven chassis, front end, drive train, etc.. As long as they fixed the blend door and ball joints that is What's the risk? They've got the bugs out of the 6.7. The Chebby and Furd are going to be just starting that learning curve next year.

I like it overall however I dont like the top of the cab from the bottom of the windows up. It looks like a cross between an F-150 and a Tundra. Love the front end and love the Mega Dually!! I'll be keeping mine a looooong time though

when ford changed their body stile everyone said it looked like a dodge.
dang it i have an '08 5500, i think the new truck is great!! but with the economy it will be a long time before i can rationalize buying a new one. i really like the taller front.

I like it but my 03, paid for, has many miles left in it and at 7500 miles a year it will be my last truck. When the 03's came out they were the end-all of trucks, now look at all the problems they have. I wonder what will be the problems with the 2010's.

The good part is if I'm sitting behind the wheel at least I don't have to look at it.
If it's more durable and reliable than its predecessor and powered by Cummins, I'll have to live with it.

I sort of like it. I think that dually with the two tone is quite sharp. I like the fender flares - - about time they did that. Integrated brake controller - - wonder who's it is? Better GCWR - - excellent. I wouldn't have to be illegal any more, but not quite enough GWR yet. Overall, nice changes in my opinion - - but that is only by the pictures. Have to see it. But, I don't have enough miles on mine yet to change. Quit looking Bob - - dangerous.
