Farm Truck Tires

Looking for tire oppinions.

The Ram has been put into full time Farm Truck duty now and the tires are shot.

I have been running BFG's same as factory on it with good highway results but find they lack in traction for the work it does now.

It spends it's life in deep snow and mud and has to pull loads in these conditions.

What tire options should I look at?

Traction is paramount.

Mud tires!
Tires I've used that I like.
Toyo M/T
Pro Comp M/T or Xtreme M/T
Goodyear Duratracs

They all will yield similar traction and IMO have good tread life and are tough. Have used them on personal rigs and construction trucks.

If you rarely to never intend to go on paved roads with that thing, you should give Interco a look (Super Swampers, etc...)

However, these are NOT suggested tires for on-HWY use...

No Interco dealer here in my province.

Had several sugestions from tire dealers, Cooper ST Maxx, BFG AT, Hercules Trail Digger.

Decisions, decisions.

check out a retread company called treadwright. Seems like good prices and if your on the farm, I would not worry about retreads.

I like the Cooper ST Maxx for ranch use. It doesn't chip at all on gravel.

I haven't owned them yet personally, but know several people who use Toyo M-55 tires. Good long-wearing utility tire with great traction. Seems to work great for towing and farm use.

Some of the guys that work in our surface mine sites have been using these on their pickups and like the way they work in mud.

Yeah, those are NASTY![guitar]
I looked at those closely until I realized they were D-rated tires (35x12.5x17)
However, for "farm purposes" I would DEF look into these!

Look into the Eastern MTR or the Techno Pneu Excavator tires both are 10 ply and can be studded for off road use
