factory fog lights

My truck does not have the factory fogs in the bumper. I'm wondering if the wiring and harness is hidden there somewhere. If it is, any suggestions on what lights to use and how to mount them?

I have the same issue. If you get under the driver's side and look up you will see the wiring harness above where the light goes. All you need to do is buy the lights, harness and switch. I have been looking on craigslist for a cheaper version, but if you find one please share. Good luck.

I just bought the kit from my dealer, just under $200, install was easy. I hooked mine up so they will run with both brights and dims

Geno's garage sells the wires to be able to run both at the same time. I believe it is called Bright Box. $200 is a little steep for me, especially when I want an after market bumper some day.

Scotty, on my 04 instead of using the low beam power wire for the trigger wire, I used the parking lights. I accessed the wire in the same location, behind the driver's side headlight, a few inches behind the socket. Doing it this way I didn't need anything special since the circuit comes with a relay and as long as your parking lights have power you're good to go.

i have an 05 model and do have the factory fog lights.

headlights are so poor that if i did not have fog lights, i could not see very well at all,
I sure wish i knew how to get them to stay on when i switch to brights.

most times i drive with the dims, because the fog lights is about all you have.

headlights must have been an after thought on our trucks.

Just browsing thru the lmc catalog. They have aftermarket ones with an l.e.d. halo ring for 119 for both lights. Or buy the stock replacements for 79.95 a piece. Think I'm gonna get the l.e.d. ones.

One harness, runs one side to the other. Instructions say to have the dealer enable them. Don't because they shut off when you have your headlights on high beam.

If you upgraded the stereo in your truck, your about 6 more screws and two pieces of plastic short of being able to get to the headlamp switch easier.

I haven't messed with the stereo. The factory one is good for me.
Plugging into the harness there won't power them? Should I run myown power supply and switch? Like I would if adding kcs? Or does the stock harness run them off the headlight switch?

I wired my the same way and that way I can have the fogs on with just the parking lights. This is helpfull in real dense fog or a heavy snow storm where the headlights would be reflecting back in your eyes. HTH
