Factory Brake Life expectancy?

So I'm approaching 120,000 miles on my original stock brake pads, rotors etc.

This surprises me since I do a lot of fairly heavy towing pulling implements withought brakes (Ag Machinery).

What are most guys seeing for brake pad life on their 3rd gen?

I had to change my front pads at 65,000 or so. The rears still had plenty of pad left.
I pull a heavy (24,500 lbs. gross weight) 40' 5th wheel several times per year, maybe 19,000 miles w/ it. .
Pull a small flatbed w/ 2 quads on it, 10,500 lbs, gross. 1 or 2 times per month.

Depends on use and driving habits.

Changed all around at 80k and could have probably pushed for another 15k.

Been wondering the same thing...

Would make a good topic for a poll, broken down by tranny of course.

I suspect many change them out when they start to hear them squeal, but these trucks don't have wear indicators and the squeal goes away after awhile (my experience anyway).

I only tow a 12x8 utulity trailer with 4 quads, and one in the bed. < Usually 6 - 7 times a years.

I'm a late breaker....

I gross around 30,000# when fully loaded but not always that heavy.

about 30% of the miles are towing.

I think this may be the most mileage i ever got out of brakes?

Just replaced mine during the holidays at 147,xxx miles. The fronts probably had enough material to make it to the end of the block but the rears had about 30,000 more on them. This is with alot of highway ocasionally towing.

Those are amazing numbers! I've only got 30K on mine so far but I noticed I can't even see hints of wear yet. Compare that to my BMW that chows pads and rotors every 50K. Must be a much softer material on the car's brakes than the truck.

Already replaced the fronts once, and they are about due again.. Haven't replaced the rear's but they are probably due soon. I have just over 60k on the truck, and drive winding mountain roads daily.
