DRW to SRW
DRW to SRW
Can it be done? I don't own one, but I've been thinking about buying one b/c they are easy to find with a 6 speed. Those bed sides look like they're just stuck on over a regular bed, maybe I'm just dreaming but I figured I'd ask. I'm guessing axles are the same and it would just need different wheels.
Thanks, Eric

Well I stayed up late and read a lot, looks like it can be done. I'd love to hear from people that have done it.
I did discover there is notched section in the bed after removal of the fenders, I wonder if a Bushwacker extenda flare would cover this plus provide extended coverage for the rear wheel sticking out farther. I think if it did, I would add a spacer and flare to the front and the truck would look pretty mean. I'm thinking the only labor intensive part would be filling the holes left behind from the fenders.

i'm in the same boat here. i'd like to convert mine to one as well but there isn't anyone close that wants to do the swap. so i'm just content w/ keeping mine a srw.

Well if I wind up with a DRW truck in the next few months I'll be wanting to swap. The rotors are in the same location on both setups no modification is necessary to bolt on a single, the wheel will just stick out a bit compared to the front, see photo above.
i can't view the photos. i thought that to replace/turn the rear rotors on the drw trucks you had to remove the hub to do so. i guess i may be wrong. i know the brake caliper and axle shaft and wheel bearings are different part numbers for that of a srw truck.
