Drivers Seat

I have never really liked the seats in my truck but I am too cheap to replace a perfectly good seat. So anyway we are on vacation and the lumbar support has broken, this is no problem for now I just roll up a small towel and use it as support. But for long term I am looking for a new seat that will hold up for more than 63K. If it makes any different I’m 6’3” and 260 lbs.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks ….er….I think those may be a little rich for my bank account but it is a starting point.
Have you sat in one or just seen them on line?

Wow after looking at what you sent I Googled “Dodge truck seats” holy cow the sky is the limit.
I even found air ride seats that are made for a dodge.
Has anyone ever tried those?
The other thing I’m noticing is that my pricing skills are a little rusty the seats that you show are pretty much in line.

I haven't been on DTR in a long long time, but this is the exact reason I logged in this morning. Funny I run across this on the second page of posts. I've got 57k on my 2006 2500 Cummins quad cab SLT, bought new in 2006. I've babied this thing for 7 years now. It has the absolute worst interior in a vehicle I've ever owned. My lumbar support broke this weekend. I'm 6'2" 200 lbs. Not to mention the foam on the door side of the seat bottom is completely gone and creates piles of shredded foam under the seat on the carpet. My kids have gotten in the truck with damp bathing suits over the years, even though I made them sit on a towel, I've got wet butt marks on my seats that stained them. I love the truck, but the interior is terrible.

My driver seat also rocks a little when braking and accelerating. I think the gear mesh on the track for the electric adjust has some wide tolerance so the seat rocks a little bit and drives me crazy. I'm about ready to weld it into the position I like and forget the power adjustment.

I bought a 7 year extended bumper to bumper warranty when I bought the truck. That's coming due to expire in October. I wonder if Dodge will honor any of these issues I have with the driver seat? I'm sure they won't cover the foam wearing out, but the rocking and lumbar wheel that's falling out of the side, maybe? I also want to have them flash the truck with the latest software. That hasn't been done in probably 4 or 5 years. My temp gauge will read 71 when it's 105 outside, or 90 when it's 40 out. My tachometer shows I'm idling at 300 rpm, then when I press the accelerator, it jumps quickly to 750, then higher to follow the actual RPM, like it's sticking or something. I'm hoping maybe a flash will help all those things, and give me the latest for the engine.

Anyway, I've also been looking for new interior. I'd like to put new foam in my seat, and put leather seat covers on front and back. I've looked at katzskins I think they're called, but without seeing any in person, I have a hard time pulling the trigger. I really want it to look OEM. Don't want to have any wrinkles or vinyl feeling material. Will be following this thread to see what happens.

My post seemed kinda whiny. I do love my truck. It pulls my travel trailer and loads I carry better than anything I've ever had. I plan to keep it another 10 years. I use it strictly for recreation, hauling stuff for home repairs, motorcycles, pulling fishing boat and travel trailer. It's been a great truck, fit exactly what I needed over the half ton GMC Sierra I had before it. Just wish the interior was the same quality I had in my Sierra, or my wife's Suburban.

I'm looking at replacing the front seats in mine also. Mmy brother has a 2012 Laramie that has fantastic seats - wondering if I can swao in a set of those. I seem to recall issues with the electronics and air bags being a show stopper with changing seats.
I'd love to be able to put something like the 20 way adjustable seats llike my BMW has.....best seat I've ever sat in.

just an update I ended up with a new seat from a company in Grand Prairie TX called Unique Concepts . It was a bit pricey but sure does ride good and it bolted straight onto the old pedestal .

I ended up buying a full set of quad cab seats from 2010. Leather, power, heated. 1500 bucks for the 40/20/40 and rear seats.
Got the fronts in and figured out how to get the powered seat portion to work, but no heat. DC-Tech says its impossible due to the new control modules. Need to pull the heaters out of my old seats and put them in the new ones.
