Door speaker recall???
hey guys I remember a while back reading there were some trucks that had the polarity reversed on their speakers. I have what sometimes sounds like a blown speaker but, when I look at it there are no tears. I have searched but cant find anything. can someone point me in the right direction for checking this?
thanks |
Only happens with Infinity systen, speakers are out of phase from front to rear. Main symptom is zero bass response when fader is rolled all the way to rear.
Here's a link to the TSB. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2004/08-011-04.htm |
it says to change the pins in the connector at the radio. Can I just swap them at the speaker. I dont see how that wont acomplish the same thing right????

Yes you can. An AC output to a speaker is either in phase or 180 out. If you swap at the head or at the speaker it does not matter. The reason they say to do it at the head is to make it easier to do. It's easier to get to the head than the speakers. Swap at the speaker if that is easier for you.

One another post, someone said that the rear speakers don't put out bass. It's all from the front. My Infinty sounds great!

Before I changed my laramie system to aftermarket, I would fade to rear and couldn't hear it at all! Now I know what was going on...
...with Focal and JL audio replacing it though it is hardly missed! |
