disappointed in service policy

I took my truck in to have the alternator bracket changed.I was informed that a 100.00 deductible applies due to having more than 36,000 miles.I just assumed that if dodge changes an inferior part to a better one through a service bulletin it would be covered without the customer having to pay anything.I guess thats what I get for assuming.

D.C service in the warranty end of it leaves something to be desired. Seem to me that dealers are always trying to get or maintain their 5 star rating but can only bribe you to give them a good review. Part of the problem is making the whole program flat rate if they had competant staff that actually give a ---- everyone would have a warm and fuzzy feeling about their dealers/D.C . I absolutely cringe at the thought of these guys working on my truck . more than once I've caught them lieing to me then I pull out my wallet and show them automotive Journeyman card if that dosen't shut them up I pull out the Heavy Duty card flip them over and show them my red seals and tell them how things that they can't fix work!
Anyways thats my rant on service departments, does my love for them show?lol

IMO You've been taken my friend. Because that was a TSB and a faulty part that should have taken care of during one of your earlier visits. I would not have given them one red cent to fix a TSB covered item.

Actually I may have been taken but I still have my money and cracked bracket.I told them if they were going to charge me just hand me my keys.Maybe I will call them on monday and just ask for the parts for free and change it my self.Ahh maybe I'll find somebody to complain to.Or maybe not.It might not be worth the argument.Time to enjoy the weekend.

spend 3-4 years apprenticing for automotive, then another 3-4 years for heavy equipment and go write the licencing exams for both and then you will have both cards...

i am midway through my apprenticeship for HD. if things go well, i will be writing my red seal next spring

I know folks that got the alt.bracket at 100k with NO money at all .Itsa KNOWN problem.Call and stir it up! the SERVICE MANGER could have waved it on his own authority! Besides the alt.bracket is NOT powertrain. It was a 3/36 item only.
