Death Wobble Revisited

A few months ago I started a thread about '05 2500 4WD and Death Wobble. It was pretty bad and getting worse, it was to the point I didn't like driving it over about 50 mph. To make a long story short, after having the front end inspected and not finding anything wrong I bought new tires and the problem is gone.

It was a simple but expensive fix.

Generally it is a combination of things...with the tracbar being a serious contender, most places never really look too close at it.

But any slop at all in the front end, then toss into the mix some out of round tires and everything gets multiplied by several factors and you get the dreaded death wobble. Glad you got it straight :)

As Lary said, it is a combination of things on the "death wobble." Here is a link to a BIG THREAD on the "death wobble" that may help you some:

I did quite a bit of research when the problem started. I found and replaced a bad tie-rod, that helped but didn't cure the problem. I ordered a heavy duty track bar but it hasn't been installed as the problem is gone. I took a 60 mile drive Saturday just to make sure. No wobble at all.

I will install the track bar because it would be a pain to return, I just need to make the time to do it.
