With 300k you just got the 5.9 broken in, just right. Like I have any room to talk with my 33k. [duhhh]

Mr. Scott, I love driving my truck like the next guy...most of the time more than the next guy, but 300k in 2 years it must feel weird standing up to you. Gotta love that Cummins though. What else would take you over a 1/4 million miles and still be sturdy? When Santa brings you that 6.7 let me know how it is.

TexasCTD Dec 22, 2006 02:20 AM

Merry Christmas Jerry!!! You don't need no 6.7. Keep on driving that 04.5. How is it holding up? Any major problems to report lately? Do you feel it could go a million if you continued as you are for a few more years?[roll] [roll]

If she showed up at my house driving a 6.7, I don't think I'd run either of them off. (Although my g/f may run all three of us off [laugh] )

I wouldn't even need a 6.7, her holding some twins would make my year.... [coffee]

I'm married so I don't need her. But if she was bringing me D.wiggs truck that's a different story[laugh]

paul4romtexas Dec 22, 2006 10:37 AM

I can just hear her saying to me, "You want to do what to me with that stickshift?"

rockcrawler304 Dec 22, 2006 11:13 AM

After looking at that HOTTIE I lost my train of thought [duhhh] [duhhh]

Now back to what I wanted to ask.

GMScott Just one question... Have you run, or do you run, any fuel additives??

Nate-03 D Dec 22, 2006 11:16 AM

Im curious now, what major problems have you incountered in the 300k?

Are you what they call a "hotshot"?

GMScott Dec 23, 2006 05:16 PM

Dear Santa,

Guys, Sorry for the delayed response. Got the last trip in for the year - 292K miles on the clock.
As far as fuel additives, every tank (140 gals. with aux tank) - P/S.
Repairs have been expensive this year and mostly concerned the Dodge wrapper:
1. trans rebuilt - 1 time, + gov. pressure switch changed out later.
2. both front hubs replaced - 2nd time.
3. driveshaft u joints replaced - 2nd time.
4. kitty cat choked - swapped entire exhaust from another truck.
5. fuel line broke at the injector - 1st ride on the flatbed.
6. Infinity 6 Disc CD changer broke. RF Speaker buzzed into infinity.
Now I'm faced with a repair on the Cummins. Seems a fuel supply line is leaking and causing high pressure in the rail - won't let the truck start. Have to shoot it with ether to start it each time. Don't worry, heater grid disconnected so we don't blow ourselves up!! Dodge says they need the truck for at least 2 days to diagnose which line is leaking - can u say $$$$$$ @ $80./hr.?? Cummins can no longer "communicate" with their own engine after 2004 so they can't do it.
Other than that & the normal 10k maintenence (oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter) set of tires every 80k - it's been tough trying to make a buck this year.
BUT!!! I still believe that there is no other better package out there, except the new chassis cabs.
Once again, Merry Christmas to you all. Let's hope for a better year in 07,
Jerry
Jeessh, how could I forget, I also just plunked down $900.00 to replace all 4 ball joints & lower the rear end.

GM,

You'll be in my thoughts. Thanks for breaking ground for the rest of us. I love it when someone uses one of these trucks for its intended purpose and not just a toy.

Look for the end of the tunnel my man, and don't run yourself into the ground.

Cheers, Wetspirit
