Clearance Lamp Lens Failure

On my 2007 Mega cab, the clearance lamp lenses are all cracked and leaking water into my headliner and out the grab handle holes.

At least 2 of them are badly leaking.

This is BS.
This truck is only 5 years old.

Very disappointed.

Is Chrysler warrantying these? I'm at 5yr/80k miles, so obviously out of warranty legally... but do they have a recall or something? I would have expected 15-20 years minimum. My 92 is doing just fine....

WHere is the best place to buy replacements.... ebay?

Dang it... and to think I threw all of mine away...

I'd look on E-bay, or drop the dime on some smoked ones. Or, get a bunch of silicone and go to work...

When installing new ones be sure not to over tighten them as that is what causes them crack as shown in the pic. Also be sure to put a small amount of RTV on the bottom of each lens as this acts as a cushion and is an additional sealant. I also put a bit on the screw head after its seated to insure it wont leak threw the screw hole..... HTH

The 06 and up style have a separate base gasket. This is what I changed mine to. They dont require silicon on the bottom. I would use it on the screw head. I got mine at dodgeparts.com.

I would still use the silicon a long with the gasket if for no other reason than to act as a cushion when tightning....
