Can you install a pass side airbag on/off switch?

My truck didn't come with one and I'm wondering if our trucks can be upgraded. I would let the dealer do it if it IS possible. Anybody done this? My kids love riding up front but I want them to be as safe as possible...

Look up a schematic for a standard cab model. It shouldn't be too difficult to add.

I remember a bulletin from Dodge offering a kit to do that on certain vehicles. It was here in Canada, not sure if it existed down there or not. There was a lot of red tape to go through, as it involved "defeating a safety feature" and I never heard of anyone actually performing the bulletin. Not sure if this info helps you or not, but it might give you a bit of reading to do.

Want to do the same thing to mine for the same reason. There was a thread a while back regarding this, how to do it, and the necessary steps to take. It was a while ago as i was going to do it to my 03 when I bought it but never did. It was either on here or TDR. Pretty sure it was on here but I searched when I bought this 05 and couldnt find it.

I too was interested in this a few years ago. I was told Dodge would have to flash the computer, and there was Federal paperwork to fill out. I gave up when I heard that.

Here is a link to an old thread

Sounds like it's not worth the hassle. Seems like if it's in the newer trucks then Dodge must think it's a better idea than not having it. I guess if the kids ride up front then they will either sit in the middle or we will move the seat back as far as possible. Driving safe will help too...
