Buying a new truck...HELP

Hello...I'm buying a new truck...had a 99 5spd that I loved and now I want to upgraded....i would like to spend less than $25K.

What is the difference on the 03, 04 and 05. Motor and tranny differences is what I'm looking for. Thanks, Matt

You should be able to buy an 03 with the HO 6speed, or the 48re with HO-600tq! These guys on here are very proud of there trucks and really do not want to see them go, that is why the prices are so high. Dont get an 03 with the S0 Engine and 47re tranny. Not a change from what you had already really.

I beg to differ!

You should pay a little less for an SO w/47RE, but it's still a great truck.

If you're not pulling a heavy trailer all the time, the 47RE should serve your needs. An inexpensive fueling box (EZ, Quad) will easily make up the difference in HP between the SO and HO.

Just my opinion FWIW.

The '03 and early '04 get better fuel mileage with no cat on the exhaust.
4.5 started some injector issues.
