Bouncing

When I lifted my truck everything was great for about 8000 miles. Since then about 2000 miles now I have a bouncing feel coming from the rear of the truck. I thought it might have been the MT tires I was running, so I switch to AT and still have the same feeling. Any ideas this is driving me nuts

Your shocks might be shot. When they don't do there job anymore (dampen the bounching from the springs and the uneven road) the springs are the only thing working and you get the bounce. If you get in the bed or stand on the bumper and jump on it, the truck should dip down a little and then move smoothly up again. If it bounces around, then the shocks are shot. It's a crude way to check them, but it kind of works.

DO you have ladder bars? If not you might want to install them! The bouncing might be from the axle rotating back and forth slightly down the road resulting in a bouncing effect! It works with big rigs. We rplace the track arms and the bouncing goes away! Good luck!

Re-torque all of the suspension too! Something might be loose.

Yep I cant spell I have some new shocks coming and I am planning on putting on some ladder bars. I have also bought the dual shock setup from superlift for the rear so hopefuly that will help. Would worn U joints cause this problem?

Well, You"ll hear the distinct squeeking sound of a worn u joint well before it would cause a bouncing, and it wouldn't be bouncing it would be a vibration and then a loud SNAP/CLANK!!!!!! lol! A stiff U joint might do it but it would be noticeable at all speeds and then again SNAP/CLANK!!! I think what you're going to do will eliminate your problem!

May sound silly but did you mount the shocks upside down? If you mount some oil damped shocks upside down the valves don't work right and they'll bounce..

Anytime! Me personally I go the inexpnsive route. I'v fabercated my own 6" lift and working on the ladder bars! In all it cost me around $300 for hardware and shocks! Anywho, Good luck and have fun!
