Block Heater

Any one know the wattage of a engine block heater for a 2004, 5.9, 24V, Im trying to figure what size timer I can use in my garage.

Thanks..... Do you think if I call Dodge Dealer they can answer my question?

Dodge may know... I think they are 750 watts also. Most block heaters are. Cummins would be a better bet if you want to call someone.

750 watts = about 6 - 7 amps. Any timer should do.

I just replaced my block heater this weekend. I got it at Cummins and they are 750 watts.

Had some eletricans tell me that I can use a 1500 watt timer........ Thanks

I'm an electrician, and I say you can use any timer that will handle the 750 watts the heater draws. So if you find a timer that is rated to 1200 watts (or 6 amps) don't be scared to use it.
