Blend Door again...Anyone tried this fix?

The dreaded Blend door appears to have broken in my '06. A google search gave this company as a result. They replace the plastic door parts with steel. Has anyone tried them? www.heatertreater.net .

I'd never heard of them, but their web page is impressive.

I like the idea of making the repair by cutting into the housing, vs draining the cooling system and evacuating the ac.

I see they have a kit to convert dual control to single control, so you don't have to pull the HVAC housing to get to the motor on the back side. If it were mine, though, I think I'd want to do the extra work to maintain the dual control.

Anyway, it looks pretty neat to me. Being able to use stronger than stock parts makes a lot of sense.

It honestly takes maybe an hour to have the dash and heater box out of the truck. Now that I have done it twice maybe 1/2 hour and it would be out.

I don't mind removing the dash. I want a permanent fix and this appears to be the only one on the market. No one has installed these steel parts here?

Yeah, I've read that. I plan on doing it right while it's all apart. Does anyone know more about a temperature sensor issue?
