Bio diesel question
Bio diesel question
I found a place nearby that sells B11 and I was wonering what is the max pecentage I can use in my '07 with the 5.9 and not worry about warranty issues. I think I remember reading that Dodge has ok'd up to 20 percent if so I can run the B11 straight right?
Thanks,
Mike

If your worried about warranty , then get it in writing from the dealer that you would go to for that work .
Even the dealers will have some variation on this , and maybe be under what ever % you were running when a issue comes up .

There is a lot of issues here , so many terms , many think they all mean the same , there are about 90 processing plants in the US , with about 100 in the works , these are private , maybe mostly farmer based , many doing it as a new buis. , so a lot of variation in quality , then you through in all the home brewers , the waste oil guys that are not processing [ taking the glycerins out ] this almost an endless list of alt.s , so think about it as if those eng. out there you built , how responsible would you want to be ?

I think I remember reading on the Cummins site that you need added water separation protection if you are going to use B20.
Maybe something fleet and mlitary do?
This is from the Cummins site...
Is B20 approved for the Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel?
For Cummins engines in Dodge Ram trucks, biodiesel fuel can be blended with an acceptable diesel fuel up to a 20 percent volume concentration (B20) for municipal, government and commercial fleets only. This applies to selected model year vehicles. Please consult DaimlerChrysler for specific requirements and approved vehicle models.
I just pulled this from the Cummins site...

I currently run B100 mixed with #2diesel to give a % of 20-30%. I am not worried about the dealership dipping my tank. I have nothing but good results with running bio. Just make sure that it is ATSM approved!!!
I have been running b99 for quite a while, although I do pay the tax. I don't make my own ------yet
I belive it was CA,I read about it in DTR here, someone had a link up a few weeks ago about it,the home made stuff.
I have heard CA,VA, pulls diesel pick-ups over,I do know OH does it,guy around here got pulled in OH and got nailed for #2.
If I remember right it was a 2 grand fine he got in OH then PA got him for 2 and the Fed for 2 grand.

Many states are getting dipped , here in MN , I know folks that go to many of the farmer shows/fairs - thrashing shows , and it seems that the cops are hanging around anywhere there are a lot of farmer/ranchers , [ I think that is all kinds of wrong ] , but as far as getting busted for untaxed fuel , there are a bunch of dealers selling all levels of bio , the state has a law that it starts at 2% , its not too hard to find 100% , it would seem to me if a dipsheep/dipper wants to hassle for bio , I would say that you should talk to the [ retailer ] ??? that I filled at , I do not know if they charged/paid tax , but I think that I payed too much for fuel , tax or no tax .
They are taking a large unconstitutional leap , [ assuming your guilty ] incessant until proven guilty .
How many keep a receipt , except those driving for a living , just buy some at retail , through the receipt in glove box and say you do not save them all .
