Best method for de-badging

I was thinking about doing this and was wondering what the best way to do it was without harming the paint. I'm sure that there is more than one.

A piece of fishing line to cut them off. Then use a good adhesive (3M) remover and your in business.

Get the 3m eraser wheel. $15 at auto paint supply store. Did my whole truck in 30 minutes. Can't tell the badges were ever there.

park the side of the truck that you want to remove the badges from in the sun for 20-25mins then just take some dental floss or fishing line and work it behind the badges if you good then you wont even need any adhesive remover. that's the best way that I have found.

I'm sure all these method's will work. You just have to pick one. I think the key factor is the eraser.

Personally, I used some "Goo-Gone". I squirted some all around the badge, let it soak for a few second's, then pealed it right off with a plastic body putty applicator. Then removed the rest with the wheel eraser.

I have not done my new truck yet but when I did my 06 Mazda I put it in the sun and used floss they came off so good that I did not need to use any goo gone or polish, but this may be different with the dodge badges.

Can Acetone be used instead of the eraser wheel? I just want to remove the dealer's badge so can't justify the eraser purchase.

debadge

I think a little bit of diesel and a rag would work just fine.

Dental floss is easier on your paint than fishing line.

Yes Acetone will work fine. Just be sure to put on a couple coats of wax after. But if I was doing it again I would spend the money and get a eraser wheel.
