Battery Cables

Need some advice. Time for battery cable replacement on the '06. Have a hydraulic crimper, so going to make my own from 2/0 welding cable. Any reason not to install a crossover negative cable? Block grounds from both batteries will be replaced with new, but not deleted, just wondering about the crossover to truly parallel the batteries... Any input welcome.. Thanks in advance.

My opinion....These trucks (like everything else) are built with the lowest cost in mind, so if it is there, there must be a good reason.

I know there are many documented cases of boiling the passenger side battery due to crossover cable problem. I see what you are saying about the ground but why risk future problems?

Wont hurt anything. Better yet would be to install 2 crossover positive cables, have some redundancy.
