Power Wagon vs H2 wheels

Hi. New here. Not a diesel owner. Guess I'm a wanna be. I just got me an '05 Power Wagon. Currently, I've got my original PW wheels with 285-70-17 tires. Since the truck sits higher than stock 2500's, the tires "look" a little small, IMO. I often get asked by others why the wheels / tires are so small. I want to go with some 35's or 315-70s. My PW wheels are 8" wide, and I know that wider wheels are recommended, although not required. I've also read that they shouldn't rub on the control arms, but that's hit or miss.

However, I've been reading a lot about the Hummer H2 wheels. It looks like they would be a better fit. They're wider, so they'll work better with the wider tires. The offset will work better pushing them out a little bit. Shouldn't be an issue with my PW flares. And I can probably find a set with tires, cheaper than buying a new set of tires.

So, I can't make up my mind. Stick with the PW wheels, or switch to H2 wheels? Any opinions? Things I haven't thought of?

Couple of other things to mention, I'm swapping the chrome out for black. I'm not a fan of chrome. I've already replaced the grille for a red sport grille with black honeycomb inserts. And replaced the silver headlights with black housing headlights. And will probably powder coat the rims either dark gray or black.

Here's how it looked when I first got it.

And how it looks now. Excuse the mess. It's been raining a lot, so no chance to clean it.

The black rims look really good against the red truck. I'd make the switch.

The PW wheels have a special lip that enables them to be aired way down.
I'd love some.
The black wheels do look sharp.

Truck looks good.
Kinda wished I would have saw this thread, I'd have swapped wheels with you. I've got chrome H2s and looking for a change.

Looks great! What did you end up using for center caps? Those aren't factory H2 caps, are they?
