Automatic door unlock question

My doors automatically lock once I get going. it's a PITA to have to go back to the front to unlock the back doors when I need to get my young un out of the back.

The manual says that if you follow the rules it sets, then the doors should unlock when the driver opens his door first. Part of the rules says it needs to be in park. I have a STANDARD. Does anyone have a clue how to make them unlock with a standard?

Thanx for any advice...

I don't think the door locks will do that with the manual tranny. I could only disable the auto door locking when the speed is above 15mph.

Try this it might work, make sure you shut off the truck and leave it in gear with the emergency break set. Oh yeah you have to ensure that you open your door first after the truck is shut off.

MikeyB,

I didn't see how to do that. I would like to just lock em when I want to.

How did you disable that contraption?

Thanx,

David

Bowman,
If I remembered correctly you have to cycle the key off/on five times very quickly and then you should hear a chime, then toggle the door lock and it should chime again. Now the locks should be set to disable. Make sure you're in the vehicle, seatbelt latched and the door closed, radio off (so you can hear the chime). There was a big discussion on this feature about this time last year. You can do a search on the 3rd Gen forum to find the thread.
Good luck!

Its all in the owners manuel, I just did mine the other day.
It takes a little searching in there to find it.....

Remember, when in doubt, read the FREPING Manual[laugh] [laugh]
