auto-locking

OK, I've followed that goofy procedure in the manual about a dozen times with no success. What is the trick to turning that darn auto-lock feature off ? I really don't like it locking the doors on its own. everytime I stop somewhere and get out the darn rear doors are locked. I did have success with re-programing the keyless unit to unlock all the doors on the first button push - but just can't seem to get the auto-lock disable procedure to work. Any help ???

Rob
Re:auto-locking

I tried this morning to disable the auto-lock feature without any luck. I tried key off/on 4 times routine but never heard the chime.

MikeyB

Re:auto-locking

I had to try it a few times before it worked. Can't remember exactly what I did but seem to remember the key to making it work was something to do with not turning the key all the way to the remove position. Just move it between on and off.
Hope this works.

Re:auto-locking

If you are having problems I think your dealer would do it for you when they are doing other servicing at N/C....we would for our customers

Re:auto-locking

The power door lock and keyless entry function is programmable through the EVIC. Found the info in the shop manual. I will try this method when time permits.

Re:auto-locking

I did mine today. Finally got it to work after several tries. When you go to the off position, only go back 1 click with the key. The speedometer should stay lit. After the 4th cycle, the speedometer will read DONE. Then lock the doors and listen. Hope it works for you.

Re:auto-locking -got it!

Finally got it to work : Don't know what I did different the other 50 times (seriously !). Finally got the chime - so I'm pretty sure I got it to turn off, but I actually haven't driven it yet to be totally positive. If anyone else is having problems turning theirs off, I can only say that when I finally got it to work, I did the procedure fairly quickly...but I think I had tried it even faster on one of the previouse attempts....so I guess the secret is modertly fast

rob
