ATTN: 200,000 Plus Mile Engines - All Generations

If you have a Cummins with over 200,000 miles, please post the following:

1. Year of truck
2. Current Mileage
3. Mechanical Repairs to engine only if any?(Exclude overhaul/rebuilds please)
4. Truck used for?

Lets keep this thread on target. No performance upgrade postings please. Trying to find out how many miles on the original engine people have and repairs if any. I will start things off.

1. 2005
2. 248,868 miles
3. A. Replaced the #4 Fuel injector tube line(Prone to going out)
B. Replacing Rear and Front Seals(as of writing)
C. Oil Pan Gasket(as of writing)
D. New Rear Seal Housing(Not needed, but by choice)
4. Long Haul hotshot

These engines are loyal!

03 with 285k
Only repairs have been rear main and cam seal and 1 CP3
Used for hot shot first 240k miles (first 2 yrs of her life!!!)
Used for daily commute to work now.

As for a stock motor I don't think you will find anything better than a Cummins!

I'll go ahead and chime in for my neighbor up the street:

2004.5
over 500k
I know he's had to replace the 6sp but that's not engine related
As far as the engine is concerned I believe a couple injectors and a CP3 have been replaced. We used to haul together. Other than that it's still rolling on!

His previous truck:

2000
497k when it got totalled.
Injectors, 1 injector line, and several vp44's.

Did you have the idle surge at start-up before going to the Fass system? I hear the surge goes away using their system.

Did you replace the injectors due to they were worn out or preventive measure? You get to a million miles, cummins might buy your motor and take it to the lab to analyze. Your truck has paid for itself many times over with all the miles you have. Roll on and keep her going! No furrrrrd I have seen yet can keep up miles wise with these engines.

Replaced the injectors because they were having issues at idle. It was a bit rough, but no problems when running or towing.

I doubt cummins will buy it back.

I know of some over 1.7 million.

He's had better luck than most with his 2004.5. I won't even get into the things I read about that year. I had an 04 then sold it and got my 05 and glad I did.

I am having a surge when I first start mine up, but it goes away after about 3 minutes. She's fine after that though.

The guys with 1.7 million. Are they 5.9's? If so, did they overhaul them yet?
