With a properly designed system it won't. The problem we have is the high side pressure spike up to 450 psi if you don't have some sort of fan on the condensor. The max it should run should be around 350 psi. This system is just not very stable the way it was designed. It's all Thermodynamics.....

I didn't know they were that poorly designed.

That probably explains why I've had very little trouble with this system since I put in my Flex-a lites. But they did more than just keep the AC down. Gained about 1/2 a mile per gallon and better response.

Beat you have wire going to the compressor so that the fans run when the compressor is engaged. That would explain why you don't have any issues. I use the same type relay with my pusher fan.

Your welcome.....LOL Went through alot of pain and suffering trying to keep cool. I can't stand 2 things on a vehicle. Water leaks and lousy AC systems.

Right. The controller on the fans has the option and I wouldn't have it any other way. All my cars have something in there to cool that condensor. The drawback is it raises my intake temps by 20 in the city and 10 on the highway. Even with the BD intercooler.

My 72 "Polaraco" has the same controller and that's wired the same way. That has the Flex-a-light fans too

Ditto, or any leak for that matter.

Polaraco,

You seem to be please with the "Flex o Lite" fans. Do you have a part number. Looks like I need to do a little research on them.

TIA

I am very happy with them

Part number, no. That was two years ago now. But they are easy enough to find on their site.

Install is easy. Hardest part is knocking off the factory fan. Use a circuit breaker, not a fuse. The fuses tend to blow in time.
