Almost drove my truck off a cliff on purpose!

So my front left marker light was going out so the "LAMP OUT" light on the dash came on. Only problem was the light kept coming on and off. Every time that light comes on, it dings. So for twenty five miles, My Chevy driving friends and I got to hear Ding,Ding.....Ding..Ding,Ding,Ding.....Ding....Din g, and so on. It only did it while we were on the interstate though. Thanks guys, I just needed to vent a little.

Many of us have been through this. Imagine sitting in a traffic jam for about 20 miles with one of your brake lights going out and every time you hit the brakes it dings!!! My Wife and I were laughing hysterically by the time we found an exit with an auto parts store....

Just remember, the old gal just kept on gitten it. Never quit running. How come those Baseball, Hot Dog, and Apple Pie guys were riding with YOU?

It took me 2 days of driving to and from work to realize that my brake light was the reason I was getting "pinged". Amazing to me how many service techs at Dodge that I talked to had no idea that the truck will "ding" when the brake light(s) goes out....[duhhh]

The real pisser is that it doesn't even have to be out yet. There are sensors that know when it is about to go out and will start the dinging and if you don't know about this you will be at a loss because all the lights will still work!!!
It was a good idea but needs some refinement...

Yeah, carry spare bulbs and grease the contacts- makes them last longer (they don't get as hot).
