Alignment on lifted truck questions.

6" lift

Need some help, she's pulling to the right slightly...more than crown of the road right. I have to keep the steering wheel at 11 o'clock to keep her straight. She's not fighting me or anything, just annoying.

Also what caster should I be running? She seems flighty on the front wheels a bit.

Here's my alignment specs, any one who can chime in with suggestions of degrees I should be running I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, Adam

Your numbers look good. The factory usually builds in more caster on the right for the road crown. So that's why it a little more.

Let me ask, are you running a dual stabilized or single, and is it (are they) pressurized? My Bilsteins are pressurized and I had one of them that was dead allowing the other to overcome & "push" my steering ever so slightly. If its a single and pressurized, it will do the same thing.

How about tire pressure, what are you running?

One thing that you can do also is swap the fronts, side to side to eliminate a possible tire pull.

Single Bilstein

Brand new tires 50 front 45 rear

My bump is to the right.

I have to go in Saturday the 28th for retorque so we are going to play with the caster. I can't find a definitive answer but most seem to comment around the internetz that they run 4-4.5. Is that too much pinion angle for a 6" lift?

Hard to say. I have always had to experiment a bit with different settings to get the best feel. But yes caster is the place to start.

In some instances, more caster on a lifted vehicle can sometimes cause other issues such as DW etc. Driveshaft vibes are more annoying than a pull for sure too, so finding a happy medium can be bit frustrating.

You may run out of adjustment if running the factory arms to get more caster with the lift you have. You may have to upgrade to adjustable arms.

I would still swap tires side to side. It's the easiest and will eliminate the radial tire pull possibility.

The lift kit came with replacement arms to allow proper alignment.

I noticed my end links are bent at the upper bushing, but I understand those tend to bend even on stock trucks. I'll be ordering some aftermarket end links soon.

Well, we were able to get 4.1 on the right and 3.8 on the left. She rides much better, I almost think 3-3.5 would have been enough, she's definitely in the roadway now rather than on top of the roadway. My bumpsteer was reduced dramatically, she not flighty any longer, and i get less shake when I hit rut with the driver side front tire.

I am getting a rhythmic wa-wa-wa-wa when I'm at/above 65mph almost sounds like the normal mud tire road noise but instead of a constant noise it's for a split second each second. I though maybe it was just the sound of concrete splits, but it occurs on asphalt also.
