AC OK then shuts down
The AC will be OK for awhile. Then the vents shut down and if turning up the fan all you get is a loud roar with no air coming out of any vents other then what little is leaking past. Shut down the AC for a couple of minutes then turn back on and it will be OK. Maybe for a couple of minutes or an hour. I imagine it is a door in the system going closed. Is there any way to get to the door without tearing everything a part. What I'd like to do is put a cable on the door that I can operate it.

If it is the same as mine, it is freezing over. Turn off the AC and let it run. The air will stay cold and the air flow will pick up as the ice melts. When the air starts to warm, turn the AC back on.
Only happens when it real hot out on mine. |
Usually when it freezes up, the refrigerant is low.

Or you have a clog in the pipes... like a dirty orifice tube or something.

Or clogged drain plug.
Or lack of air flow through evaporator coil. Or defective evaporator temp sensor. |
