ac doesn't work
'07 3500 ac was working last night when I turned the truck off. I get up this morning to go to work and all I have is hot air. the fan blows but the compressor doesn't kick on. Does anyone have any ideas? I checked for an ac fuse and didn't find one what is the first thing to check? and how?
Me too
On way back from High Sierra's my AC cut out on the Grapevine just today. It was only 107 degrees. with 1yr and 4 yr old. Yuck. I'm digging through threads, but caught this one and thought I'd lodge my issue too! I'm ready to drive it off a cliff for letting me down! Looking at the positive side, I got14.5 MPG without the air on....up from 10.5 with... I tried the "disconnect the battery and let the truck reset" trick but did nothing...Thanks in advance for any replies!
MVDIESEL,
I've had issues with mine as well since last July. Normally 50% of the time the AC runs without any issues but the other 50% it initially runs but after 5 minutes the compressor goes off no light on the AC button and RECERC and the rotary switch for vent direction will not function as well. However the fan will continue to run blowing ambient temperature air. After running for 5-10 minutes with just the fan the compressor will mysteriously come on restoring the RECERC light and vent direction switch and cold air comes out of the vent again.
The dealer changed the control head last July and it fixed the problem till last week when the problem returned. I took it to the dealer the other day and they replaced the control head once again. It worked well for one day but the problem returned again today. I'm not sure what is wrong with this AC. I'm worried that because my warranty will expire next month. I'm just hoping that Chrysler will still honor it since it's been a reoccurring issue.

My A/C went out suddenly on a trip last month, cold one second, hot air the next. The compressor would not come on. Had the A/C compressor switch transducer replaced, but that did not help. Took it to a dealer and it was the ac compressor clutch. Had to replace a good compressor because of poor stupid design, can't buy only the clutch - they are made together, so had to buy whole compressor unit. Fixed again at great expense.
I pulled the wire going in to the compressor to check for voltage, I get 11.29 when the compressor (A/C light) is off and 14.00 when the compressor is/should be on. I think my compressor is getting the juice, just not sure if it is actually kicking on. Can somebody say how to know if the compressor is kicking on or not? I can spin this triangle looking thing with 3 circles that sits on the end/inside the wheel of the compressor.....it appears that those things should be spinning if the clutch kicks in? I can turn it by hand and it sounds like compression going on in the unit but I'm not sure. Its not turning when the AC is on or off.... I have 39K and its 3 yrs 3 months old. Gonna try to get it covered. Perhaps my issues will help Jeramy125.
my A/C is cold but it doesn't blow any air... and with the fan speed selector on high there is a terrible rumble from under the passenger side dash?? any suggestions?? thanks in advance...
broken recirc door. drop the glove box and look up in there. you'll see the door. not a bad replacement really.

Did you get this figured out ? One of my trucks is doing this, but now it will not come back on.
