315'S on stock rims?
I want to upgrade to 315" Cooper Dicover ATR's and put them on the stock 17" rims. Do I have to get the leveling kit? Will they fit w/o rubbing during hard turns? I'm trying to do this as painlessly as possible. With the 4-sp auto and 4.10 gears, this thing tachs too high for my taste on the hwy.
How do I put my truck info below my thread. I'm brand new to this forum stuff and need some direction. My truck is 05 2500 HD Thunder road LWB Quad cab 4X4. I have the Banks Monster Exhaust, Hi-Ram intake, Airaid intake. I love this diesel! |
You can put 315s on with very minimal rub at full lock. It doesn't hurt anything and you will hardly ever have a problem with the rubbing unless you go off road. You don't need a leveling kit but many have put one on and it has fixed the rubbing issue. Beware, though, many guys have had the "Death Wobble" after adding a leveling kit. I ran my stock rims w/ 315s for over two years with no lift and no problems..

Thanks DZILLA. Great looking truck. As soon as I figure out for to attach some picks, I'll post them. I've already got the Leveling kit and shocks on order but I can easily return them. I figure the size tires I want will help with the RPM's.
One thing I see on my rig is that the Rearend is an 11.5". |
Refer to the posts regarding DW..... aka Death Wobble!!!!
