2500 on the 2500

Just turned 2500 miles on the 04 2500 CC yesterday. Drove from Cincinnati to Terre Haute IN and back. Here's my observations:

18.1 MPG round trip. I ran 75 - 80 for the first half of the trip, OH showed 17.8. I tried to run slower (70) on the way back and it went up to 18.2, then I got in a hurry and went back to 75 - 80.

Boring!! [laugh] The tranny (48 RE) never went out of OD the entire trip, even up long hills. My old Silverado would hunt in & out of OD when going up the same hills.

Seat comfort  Maybe the way the hood is laid out makes me want to twist to the center, but it seemed the steering wheel was offset to the left. I hadn't noticed this before, but this was my first long trip.

No vibration, no drone, no wind noise, I love this truck!:)

OK, you get that SMILE off you r face now[laugh] [laugh]
Felt good didn't it:confused:
If yo set the cruise for about 68 it will get even better MPG, this keeps the rpms @~1800. Seems to be a nice spot for the engine to work it's magic, it does get boring though passing all those other folks going up the side of those mountians in O/D without looseing a tick[laugh] [laugh] :D

I've noticed I want to do the same twist to the center. It feels like the seat is twisted that way.

Im glad Im not the only one loving my truck.. When I took delivery of my truck, it had hard water spots on it from sitting on the back of the lot for a while.. and they could not remove them before delivering the truck to me, so I drove it around for a week dirty as heck.. I took it back to teh dealer today, to get a clay bar treatment to remove the hard water spots, and 6 hours later, its PERFECT! I LOVE MY TRUCK TOO!! And Ive only got 600 miles on mine, but Im averaging about 18-19 hwy and 15-16 city.. but I have a really light foot... Unless I wanna hear the turbo whine :D
