2017 20" wheels and tires on 2006
I am getting due for tires soon and was looking at new wheels as well. I have seen several take offs available in the 18" to 20" range for less than I can buy tires for. Any concerns putting the 2017 20" 3500 wheels on my 06 3500. The tires are the factory Firestone Transforce any feed back on them? I tow fairly heavy mostly freeway light off road mostly in the sand. I have been running the stock 17" with Toyo AT's with good results.

anyone?? |
I believe they have more backspacing meaning they'll hug the body more. The 20's are expensive and hurt the ride.
The 18's offer much higher load index's than the 17's. |
This '15 is my first experience with Firestone Transforce tires. After about 31k miles, about 9k of which towing my 25' 5th, they are worn out. Just ordered Michelins. I had them on my '03 and always got good mileage. 50k mile warranty.
I used to put pull-offs on my '03, but I have TPMS now so it would be a hassle. Back to morning brew . . . [coffee] |
