I acquired through a trade a 2010 tow mirror. I believe by using the base of my 2006 and with some modification it should fit. IMO the 2010 mirror are an improvement to the previous design.

Does anyone have the wiring schematics for the tow mirror for both 2010 and 2006? If it comes down to it I could shoot each wire but I really don’t want to do that unless I have to. Wiring schematics would be great. Thanks.

 

I'm someone else has something. I'll see what I can do to find something on the internet. I've been wanting to the same thing, just to many other projects going on right now.

Thanks for the link. I found the 2006 wiring diagram under Technical Information then Electrical Wiring Diagram but when I went to 2010 Technical Information i could not fins Electrical Wiring Diagram. Is it hidden somewhere? Thanks.

 

Well, knock me down. I guess I've never looked for the 2010 wiring diagrams. They's a set under the Chassis/Cab section and the ones I looked at were exactly the same as the 06 diagrams.

 

Are these the chrome ones with the turn signals and puddle lights underneath? Those are sweet if they actually fit.

 

For 2010 & up the wiring diagrams were changed to a standalone application that techs can access via the internet. PM me your email and I will email a PDF of the connectors, if you wish...

The one I got is plain black (hate chrome anyway) with the turn signals and LED puddle lights underneath. I've looked at the wires and it does not seem like that complicated once you figure out which wire is which. The only wire that will give you trouble is figuring out where to connect the turn signal and "puddle" lights as the 3rd gen did not have these options. Any clue?

 

If they're LED's you could run them in with the door harness to the overhead light circuit.

 

Subscribed as I want to switch over to those mirrors as soon as I can find two in the local junkyard. We have two of the "new" trucks at work and the mirrors are the ONLY improvement over my old truck (except maybe the auto trans)
