2006 Crew Cab

I got the new Popular Mechanics magizine the other day and thumbing through and noticed they had a spy photo of what they think is a heavy duty crew cab ram.

The picture in the magazine is not very good. The truck is covered to make it look like something else. the caption underneath says crew cab ram.

I remember quite a few years ago reading either Petersens' 4 Wheel & Off Road or Four Wheeler magazine that Dodge planned on introducing a true crew cab with the "new" heavy duty series Rams in 03; guess the they decided it wouldn't be profitable or something to that note. Basically, I'll believe it when I see it, a real crew cab would be cool though.

I was going to wait for a crew cab to come out but my car expired earlier than I thought it would so I bought a 2004.

Still would like the full crew cab but it does have some disadvantages:

1.) It would probably eat into the bed space, i.e., the F150 Super Crew which has a 5.5 foot bed.

2.) It will probably add a few grand to the price.

So I'm happy with my decision to buy an '04.

Maybe in ten years I'll buy a new one with a legit full crew cab.

Will they keep the current cab as an option, or offer a comparible extended cab? IMHO the QC is just right, not to big and not to small.

I agree with JamesP. I find the QC just about right. I don't carry more than the wife and I along with the dogs so the QC gives the dogs all the room they need and helps keep the length of the truck down. I do "occassionally" carry 1 or 2 other people but they are generally under 5' 6" so there is plenty of leg room for them.

Pics of the 2005 Power Wagon it's a QC. Profile doesn't appear to be any different 'cept the wheels and tires. Car mags also have pics of the SRT-8 4dr and it too is QC. I'm betting the true-crew is still a year away. My $.02
