2006 Brake Light Issue

I have an problem with the brake lights on my truck that I don't understand. I have a canopy on the truck with a 3rd brake light embedded that is wired into the truck and this light works correct; however, both brake lights on the truck will not light up. The turn signals work, the warning flashers work, just no brake lights.

How is it possible that the brake light on the canopy works but the lights on the truck do not?

I figured it out. Both brake light bulbs burnt out at the same time. Didn't even think of that.

Oh come on mad, I had nothing to do with it... other than being the cheapest thing going.

Funny how bulbs seem to do that these days. On a side note, our local dealer just charged some I know $117 to "diagnose" and change a burned out taillight bulb. After the customer told them which bulb was burned out. Oh, and they charged another $8.94 for the bulb...

Yeah, cheapest thing first.

I almost want to change your user title to 'cheapest thing going'...

Those are dealer fees, man. One hour of labor minimum, shop fees, and the part. Sad times we live in. Mark's Minor Mechanics wouldn't charge a dime to swap out a bulb.
