2004 Chassis Cabs

Back in 02' when the new body style was rollin onto lots there were talks about Dodge not produceing Chassis Cabs till the 04' Model year.

Anybody know if Chassis Cabs are going to be produced this model year?

If you go in and build a new dodge on the didge site you can select box delete and it only knocks off $400.00

On the ford site it you build a F-350 and hit box delete it knocks off $600.00 but if you go in and build a F-350 Chassis Cab the base price I think was like $1500 less then the F-350

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

I've been checking into the chassis cabs too. I haven't seen any 3rd gen.'s yet. Maybe they're not making them till the 04's. I posted the same question on here about a week ago and didn't get a response. I also posted in the towing section and got some responses, but no real answers. The gen. 2 chassis cabs with 2 wheel drive came with a solid front axle and 4 link like the 4WD's but without the transfercase or pumpkin on the axle. I wonder if they're going to keep that system for the gen 3's? I'll keep an eye out and let you know if i see one or hear anything.

Does the F350 CC come with the 450/550-style frame rails and cab-to-axle distances in back, or the standard F350 PU frame rails and distances? That would be the only difference I could think of that might account for the price diff...

It looks like the frame rails and distances on the F350 CC are the same as on the 450/550 CC

The frame setup on the F-350 vs F-350 CC are different. All Chassis Cabs have the stright frame or flat frame.
For Ford the F-350 GVWR is 11,200# the F-350 CC bumps up to 12,500# GVWR
That is my wonder about Dodge does the Cab/Chassis have a bigger GVWR over the reg 3500?

If you build a F-350 CC on the Ford site you can build it cheaper and the CC has more options over just a reg F-350 truck.
On the CC you can delete stuff off the XLT package and add from other packages. on the reg F-350 you dont have as much options.
This is the reason that I built a F-350 Chassis Cab and got my invioce from the dealer, all I got to do is call back and say I am ready. I want to wait till spring before I buy another truck.
Cumminsluke now has me toying over the idea of buying another Dodge but if they dont have a Chassis Cab by then I am going to stay with Ford

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

If anybody wants to order a long bed truck in graphite metallic I will give you $401.00 for the bed. Now you will have the chassis cab for a buck less than what DC's price is and I will have a spare bed. Cool huh? ;D

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

I checked a couple of dealer's inventories around here, and neither of them have any chassis cabs on the lot. I'd call them, but I'm not getting a truck till winter, and don't want them harrassing me till i'm ready.

As I told CattleHauler in a PM they will not build them until the second half of the 2004 model year if at all.

CattleHauler, BTW, I am working up a price for you on a truck set-up like mine, except with a 6-speed and a jake brake.

Thanks for the info Luke. 2nd half of the model year is around Jan. right?? That would work out good for me, if that's right. They better build them because I'm not getting a furd. BTW is "by the way" I think Cattle Hauler.

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

Don't visit the 3rd gen forums much,

but,

I swear I saw a cab and chassis sitting outside a dealership in Bountiful Utah a couple of weeks ago.

I guess it would have to have been delivered with a bed, they then removed it to put on a flatbed, but the buyer backed out or something.

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

BTW= By the way. Phox, you must have seen a bed takeoff truck. Don't hold me to the 1/2 way through 04' thing, I am just saying that is the soonest it will show up, it could be 05', according to my DC zone salesmangler, I mean manager. I gotta feeling they might wait and bring out the 3500 C+C at the same time they bring out the new medium duty 4500/5500.

Re:2004 Chassis Cabs

So Dodge is finally going to step up to compete with the f-450 and f-550 I think they will see alot of converts from Ford.

Cattle Hauler buy what you want but do your homework on the 6.0 PSD. You need your truck for business. You don't need massive downtime. Check out the Ferd sites B4 you sign. I did and am driving a Cummins. Good luck
