2003 Dodge 3500
Just bought a 2003 Dodge 3500 SLT 2wd. When I got it home I noticed the battery connections needed cleaning. I removed the cables and cleaved the cables and posts. When I connected the posts back up The horn and lights started to sound and blink. Not too familiar with all this new computer stuff. How can I fix this problem? I thought these trucks liked maintenance.

Old Hippy
Ok here is what I did to get this thing to start, after hours and hours of research. I locked both doors. I went the old school method, cause I'm old. Disconnected both batteries, Hooked a jumper to the plus side on one battery and hooked the other end of the jumper to the negative cable of that battery. Did this for both batteries. Pulled fuse # 11 and 13, FCM power and let it sit overnight.
Came back the next day and installed the fuses. Hooked the plus cables to the battery and then the negative side. Used the remote to open the door, alarm started. Got in and closed the door and put my seat belt on turned the key and it started. alarm stopped. What kind of witchcraft is this? This will be my last computer controlled truck. Will buy non computer vehicles from now on. Anybody want to buy a truck? |
