OK, what gives... Everything I know and show on this truck says it has a 34 gallon tank. But, no matter how far down I run it, I can never get more than 20-21 gallons pumped into it. When I pump 20 gallons in, the fuel gauge shows full.

What am I missing?

Sounds like your in tank gauge is not reading correctly. I know it was common on the second gens for that to happen due to the float arm being damaged from using the big nozzles when filling (Too much fuel gushing in damaging float unit) to old age causing the float arm to not track straight or properly.

Perhaps someone with 3rd gen experience on that can comment.

I'd agree about the float issue/sending unit.

When you say low are you talking about fuel light on before fill up? I believe you still have 7-8 gallons when the fuel light comes on. I want to say I have gone another 80+ miles before the "DTE 0" starts flashing. Maybe the fueling station has real foamy fuel?

It's been awhile since I put more than $20 in mine due to summer motorcycle commute.
