12" subs under the rear seat possible?
Well I have 2 12" JL subs and amp from my 93' sitting in my basement collecting dust and I want to put them in my 04'. Has anyone put 12s under the rear seat of a quad cab? I've heard 10s are the limit but I'm not totally sure.
Thanks |
I am in the process of making a fiberglass box for a single 12".
First you have to figure out how many cubic feet of air that woofer needs and go from there but as far as physically fitting it's not a problem. |

They are possible. I have 2 12" s under my rear seats. Sounds very tight, no rattles or distorted sound at all. Pics are in my gallery.
Man that box looks great! Where abouts did you pick it up? Thats exactly what I'm looking for. |
There is enough room for 12"s, but most likely you will have to fiberglass the box to get the most out of the space that is there. 2 10"s sound awesome in the small cab space. I really wanted 12"s as well, but settled for 10"s

I got 2 12" JLs under my back seat. I will take a pic and post later. Its basically a cut out custom cover that goes over the storage bin under the back seats. I bolted into the truck. Sounds pretty darn good. Amp is under my seat.

crutchfeild has a box that contains 2, 10" and an amp that will fit under the rear seat.

Yep they will fit. I build a fiberglass box with an mdf top! I put down some plastic down and went to town with the fiberglass.
